FiveSquare GmbH is actively committed to climate protection

The carbon footprint of FiveSquare GmbH's electricity consumption was calculated for the first time for the calendar year 2024.  During this period FiveSquare purchased only electricity from renewable energy sources. A contribution to climate change mitigation equivalent to the amount of greenhouse gases resulting from FiveSquare´s electricity consumption was made through the purchase and retirement of Gold Standard carbon credits.

Accounting Period

01 January 2024 to 31 December 2024

Organizational Boundaries

The office location at Altenberger Strasse 81 in 4040 Linz, which is under the operational control of FiveSquare GmbH and relevant for the reporting period, was defined as the system boundary. In addition, since 1 May 2024, a data centre has been operated at Schafbergstraße 1, 4614 Marchtrenk, which is also under the operational control of FiveSquare GmbH and is therefore included in the organizational boundary.

System Boundaries

At FiveSquare's request, only the following greenhouse gas emissions were accounted for:

Scope 2 - indirect emissions from externally generated and purchased/imported electricity

Scope 3 - upstream, indirect emissions from electricity purchases

Note: No own electricity generation plants are in operation (e.g. PV systems)

Contribution to Climate Change Mitigation

As a result of FiveSquare's electricity consumption, greenhouse gas emissions amounting to 1.32 tCO2e were released in the period under review within the aforementioned system limits.  By purchasing and retiring 2 Gold Standard carbon credits, FiveSquare supports the GOLD STANDARD climate project Ibanda - Makera Forest Cook Stove Project, Rwanda GS5047 VPA63 .

GS VER Serial Numbers / Retirement Remark: GS1-1-RW-GS10994-16-2022-25920-1621 to 1622
